① Glass powder

Glass powder is amorphous hard particles. The raw materials used in production are PbO, SiO2, TiO2 and other electronic grade raw materials. After mixing, solid-phase reaction is carried out at high temperature to form a glass homogeneous body with disordered structure. Its chemical properties are stable and its acid resistance far exceeds that of lead oxide. However, in the expression of chemical composition, it is converted into oxides according to common practice, such as PbO, SiO2, etc.

② Silica powder

Silicon powder is made of natural quartz (SiO2) or fused quartz (natural quartz by high temperature melting, cooling after amorphous SiO2) by crushing, ball milling (or vibration, air flow grinding), flotation, pickling purification, high purity water treatment and other multi-channel processing of micro powder.

The former has high silica purity and the latter has low silica purity.

Scope of application

Glass powder:

(1) suitable for polyester paint, polyurethane paint, nitrocellulose paint, alkyd paint, acrylic paint, ethylene acid paint, etc., PE transparent primer, etc.; widely used as a dual-purpose paint for decoration. It is recommended to add 5%-10%.

(2) In the furniture paint, its transparency, thixotropy, hardness, and abrasion resistance are very good, and the recommended addition amount is 3-7%.

(3) suitable for plastic paint, metal paint, the recommended dosage is: 5-15%

silicon powder:

(1) Coating: oil absorption, low mixing viscosity, good dispersion and fluidity, small angle of repose formed by accumulation, and friction resistance.

(2) epoxy floor: low viscosity, good fluidity, good accumulation, easy compaction, easy to combine with epoxy resin. Compared with traditional silicon powder, it can save the amount of epoxy resin.

(3) Rubber: Wear-resistant rubber products include rubber plates, tubes, belts and rollers. It requires the compound to have good permeability and strong adhesion. The test results show that the compound filled with silicon powder fully embodies the unique properties of thin rubber, good permeability, good dispersion and strong adhesion, which is conducive to the wiping of the compound on the canvas and enhances the adhesion strength between the film and the canvas, tearing strength, permanent deformation and other mechanical properties of the product.

(4) Sealant: The water content of the treated silicon powder is less than 0.1%, which can improve the adhesive strength, yield value and shear dilution index of the colloid. With thickening, reinforcing effect, anti-tearing, anti-aging effect.

(5) electronic grade and electrical grade plastic sealing material: quasi spherical silicon powder used in epoxy resin insulation packaging materials, can greatly increase the filling amount, reduce the viscosity of the mixed material system, improve the processing performance, improve the permeability of the mixture, reduce the expansion coefficient of the cured material and the shrinkage rate of the curing process, reduce the thermal expansion difference.

(6) precision ceramics.

Yuanlei Classroom | As a key material, how many applications does precipitated barium sulfate have?

The appearance of precipitated barium sulfate is a white amorphous powder, with a relative density of 4.50 (15 ℃) and a melting point of 1580 ℃. Due to its high refractive index (1.63-1.65), it exhibits a relatively white color and a certain degree of covering power. It is almost insoluble in water, ethanol, and acid, soluble in hot sulfuric acid. It is easy to form mixed crystals with potassium permanganate, calcium carbonate, or metal nitrates, and can be reduced to barium sulfide with carbon at high temperatures.

Yuan Lei's Little Knowledge | Application of Wet Mica Powder in Other Fields

Wet mica powder is a high-quality mineral filler made from high-quality mica raw materials, which are washed, impurity removed, soaked, crushed, low-temperature dried, and screened. Its unique production process maximizes the preservation of mica's sheet-like structure, large diameter to thickness ratio, high refractive index, high purity, high whiteness, high gloss, low sand and iron content, and other industrial characteristics that cannot be compared to dry process technology. The unique performance of wet mica powder has greatly improved its application in multiple industries such as plastics, paint, rubber, etc., and has a significant effect on improving product performance and reducing costs.

Yuan Lei's Little Knowledge | Application of Wet Mica Powder in Resin and Plastics

Wet mica powder is a high-quality powder with good whiteness, large diameter to thickness ratio, smooth surface, and uniform particle size obtained by special processes of crushing, drying, and grading mica fragments after washing, impurity removal, and purification. It is widely used in rubber, plastics, coatings, paints, cosmetics, and other industries.
